Apple VS Pumpkin

By Anthony Gorea of Valley Wine and Liquor Herkimer NY

Labor Day marks the end of the Summer season and the beginning of Fall. Nothing says Fall more than apples and pumpkins. Whatever store you walk into you will be bombarded with apple and pumpkin products. Some people prefer apple over pumpkin, but I am not here to tell you which is better. We carry a plethora of apple and pumpkin products, but here are a few of our favorites that are only available seasonally.

Evan Williams Kentucky Cider

One of our seasonal favorites is Evan Williams Kentucky Cider. For years people have been pouring bourbon into their apple cider. Evan Williams made it easier for us to enjoy this classic Fall cocktail by combining the two. When sipping it you will taste sweet apples, nutmeg, and allspice. The best thing about this drink is that it can be served cold or warm. Yes, I said warm! You can heat this up and turn it into a spiked liquid apple pie. You cannot beat this product for only $10.99!

Another way to enjoy Evan Williams Kentucky Cider is:

6oz Evan Williams Kentucky Cider

2oz Apple Cider

½ oz Fresh Lime Juice

Lime Wedge

Combine Evan Williams Kentucky Cider, apple cider and lime juice over ice in a shaker. Cover and shake. Strain into a martini glass. Serve with a lime wedge.

Fulton’s Harvest Pumpkin Pie Cream Liqueur

Another item that is always a hit every year is Fulton’s Harvest Pumpkin Pie Cream Liqueur. This is by far our most popular pumpkin item that everyone waits all year for. This is a creamy, smooth liqueur with a blend of pumpkin, brown sugar, and nutmeg. The minute it touches your lips you will think of pumpkin pie. This should be served chilled on the rocks. For an extra delicious treat you can pour it over vanilla ice cream for a dessert that will have your guests wishing for more! Fulton’s Harvest is only $9.49 and sells out extremely fast so get your while you can.

Use Fulton’s Harvest to create a Pumpkin Martini:

3 oz Fulton’s Harvest Pumpkin Pie Liqueur

2 oz Caramel Vodka

Add ingredients together in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and pour into a martini glass.

These are just a couple of the many items that we have for Fall. Stop in and check out what else we have for you to try. We won’t steer you wrong!
