Can you believe we celebrated our 5^th Anniversary here at Valley Wine and Liquor in Herkimer this past May? It seems like just yesterday we were opening our doors to customers for the first time. Over the years our customers have become more than just patrons buying wine and liquor, they have become friends and a part of our Valley family. Herkimer County welcomed us with open arms and we owe our success over the past 5 years to you! To thank you we decided to celebrate our 5^th birthday all summer long with a Free Anniversary Wine Tasting, a Summer Sale, Giveaways, and more!

When customers walked into the store at the end of May they noticed some differences. We teamed up with our wine/liquor distributors to bring in birthday themed displays to decorate the store that will stayed up throughout the summer as we celebrated this momentous occasion. We also be displayed pictures of what the store looked like before we arrived. You can look for that blast from the past posted in the back of store!

Why decorate the store for the birthday you might ask? I wanted to create a fun and celebratory atmosphere for our Free Anniversary Wine Tasting. Yes…I said free!! The tasting took place on Saturday June 8^th. There were both wine and liquor booths which had different samples. We offered samples of the following products: 19 Crimes Wines, Cupcake Wines, Adirondack Winery, Parrot Bay Cocktails, and Patron Tequila Cocktails. We also had a Knob Creek Bourbon booth where you could get the bottle engraved for FREE!

Anyone who shops at Valley knows that our slogan is 1 Big Family, 2 Great Stores, More Ways to Save Big! Well, we wanted to pass more savings on to our loyal customers. A summer sale went into effect Memorial Day Weekend and ran until midway through the summer. We hand selected some great items that were perfect for the summer season.

To further commemorate the occasion, we purchased another barrel! George Dickel Whiskey was the first barrel program that we offered to our customers, so we got nostalgic and brought back the Dickel barrel program! This is a whiskey that is extremely unique and will not be available anywhere else in the world but right here in Herkimer, NY! The bottle tags say: “Valley’s 5^th Anniversary Edition Bottle.” We are very excited for everyone to try it! Plus, we get the actual barrel that the whiskey came out of. No birthday party would be complete without presents. Every month we gave away a different item through an in-store raffle. Our first giveaway was a Jack Daniel’s Rolling Cooler and our lucky winner was Art Logan from Fort Plain . In June Max Caulfield from Herkimer won the Portable Weber Grill from our giveaway.

As you can see, we had a lot planned for Valley’s 5^th Anniversary. I hope you had the opportunity to stop in and take part in our celebration. This was a great summer and I thank everyone who came out to support us. Thank you for the past 5 years. I look forward to serving Herkimer County for many more years to come.
